Stretching seminars

The Stretching seminar is crucial to any Freediver, beginner or advanced.

During its course, one is taught freediving-specific stretching exercises for aiding equalization, shoulder & rib-cage flexibility, the diaphragm and the lower body.

For one, the Freediver benefits enormously from stretching, with a visible increase in lung capacity. While strengthening the respiratory and chest muscles, stretching releases muscle tension, boosts rib-cage and shoulder flexibility and enhances lung volume thus maximizing breath-hold capacity. But more importantly, stretching promotes easier adaptation to depth, this way dramatically reducing the risk of injury.

This is why this seminar is key to freedivers of all ages and levels.

First, a spirometry test (measurement of vital lung capacity) is performed on all participants, which remains in the school’s records so that the trainee can check his/her own progress over a given practice time-period, in the way instructed.

Groups are small in order to allow for proper monitoring of the way all exercises are performed.

At the beginning of the seminar, students also receive a complementary picture book with the stretching routine, so that they can then practice at their own convenience.
