Depth stage

Depth stage

The Depth Stage is a 4-day specialized deep diving course, tailored for more experienced freedivers, who wish to dive safely and comfortably deeper than the 30-35m range, but are experiencing some difficulty.

The challenges any freediver faces when attempting to reach greater depths, are essentially due to equalization. Advanced equalization techniques are required for more demanding depths. So, in this training program, we are mainly preoccupied with teaching these methods and tackling the drills on which the diver must work on to be able to equalize – consciously and not by chance – in order to reach past the 35-metre mark, thus ensuring a safe and smooth transition into deep diving.

At the same time, the set of skills a freediver (who wants to push the limits of his abilities by going deeper) must master to unlock new depths, are also analyzed in great detail. Enhanced knowledge on how to improve on those skills is also offered.

This course has been previously attended by several National depth record-holders and OneBreath athletes, such as: Christos Karelos (120 metres CWT- Monofin, 105 metres CWTB and Bronze medalist at the 2021 World Championship in Kas, Turkey), Fayrouz El Mehdawi (75 metres CWT-Bifins) and 66 metres FIM], Anna Iliadou (47 metres CNF) and several other Greek and foreign athletes with astonishing results.

Participation is open to trained freedivers (certified by any organization). Minimum age: 18 years old.

Depth stage training is conducted in a classroom (theory – videos) and at sea under the guidance of experienced instructors.
